Colourful Window Shutters: How Daring Are You?
During my time in the window shutter business, I have seen shutters evolve and transform homes nationwide. Obviously white window shutters are always going to be a firm favourite when designing and installing window shutters.
The reason for this is although beautiful and light, they are very neutral and therefore a very safe bet. However if you too are like me and have your nose buried in a new design magazine every week, looking for quirky inspirational ideas that can transform your home, then why not take the risk and add a splash of colour and excitement.
Working with inspirational interior designers like Maison deco in Esher, Surrey and Louis Baron in Chislehurst, Kent, has definitely opened my mind up to a whole new world of colours that can be bold, exciting and neutral in different ways.
For example, I recently installed red tier upon tier shutters in a kitchen which was predominately black and white throughout. I can't express the effect this had on the room. Had my client chosen to stay safe and go with white or black window shutters she would have definitely not achieved the effect she was looking for!
Simple changes can make the biggest difference!
It is clear to me that everyone has their own taste and preferences. However I can't stress enough that if you would like to add a dramatic, modern statement to your home or business. There is no other simple and better way than to choose a colour that reflects that.
I personally recommend looking through colour charts, such as farrow and ball or Dulux to find a colour that can really bring your window shutters to life. We can match any colour from any chart and spray your shutters to suit! Or maybe mix things up and choose black shutters with white louvers?
Window shutters are a way of decorating your home.
It's plain to see that window shutters dont just have to be a window fixing that offers privacy and security. Installing Window shutters are much more than that. They are also a fantastic way of decorating and adding personality your home! Plus, we are always available to guide you and give additional advice about colour schemes, ensuring you can't go wrong.
There is also one question I would like to answer: Can you dress window shutters? The answer is a definite yes! Window shutters can look fabulous when dressed with light curtains or drapes. They can also add an extra feeling of warmth within a room.
Tip: try adding white neutral drapes to some colourful window shutters! Once installed, stand back and admire!
